Why Voluma?
Voluma is a great filler option for the cheeks because it provides instantly results and lasts up to 24 months. Unlike some fillers, it is reversible if a patient has any adverse side effects to the treatment. Treating patients in the cheek area helps to create a more youthful appearance in the under-eye and nasal labial fold areas.
What can I expect with treatment?
A 30-40-minute office visit with minimal downtime. Mild swelling, bruising and tenderness at the injection site is common. Avoiding certain medications and supplements, such as aspirin and fish oil, and taking arnica can also help minimize bruising.
How long do results last?
You can expect to see instant results that continue to improve over the next 2-3 weeks. What I love most about Voluma is that results can last up to 24 months.
Will I experience any pain?
Voluma is mixed with lidocaine (a numbing agent) so many patients find the treatment to be comfortable. If a patient is worried about pain, we can also apply a topical numbing cream before treatment to help with any discomfort from the injection. We also like to ice our patients after the treatment to help minimize discomfort.
Can I go back to normal activities after the treatment?
Makeup can be applied directly after the treatment. I recommend that patients can resume to their regular exercise routines the following day.
