SkinPen® is a microneedling treatment that is ideal for treating acne scars. As the name suggests, the SkinPen® is a compact microneedling device in the shape of a pen. This makes it easy to target small areas of the skin, such as areas affected by acne scars or related skin concerns.
Like other microneedling treatments, the SkinPen® creates tiny punctures in the skin that trigger a healing response from the body. The body then produces collagen to heal the wounds, resulting in quick healing and a significant improvement in the appearance of skin tone and texture. With SkinPen®, patients can achieve significant improvements in the appearance of acne scars in as little as one treatment.
How Much Do SkinPen® Treatments Cost?
The cost of your SkinPen® treatments at Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England will depend on a number of factors. During your free consultation, we will assess your skin type and discuss your treatment goals to determine the approach to the SkinPen® treatment that will work best for you.
We will consider these and other factors in order to provide you with the full cost of your treatment during your consultation. To make this and other services more affordable, we are proud to offer financing through CareCredit®.
What Can I Expect From the SkinPen® Treatment?
Prior to the SkinPen® treatment, a topical numbing solution will be applied to the treatment area. This will minimize any discomfort from the treatment process. Once the skin is numbed, the SkinPen® device will be used to create tiny punctures in the skin where acne scars are located. After the entire treatment area has been addressed, the treatment will be complete. This process usually takes less than 30 minutes to perform.
What is the SkinPen® Recovery Like?
After your SkinPen® treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling in the treatment area. However, due to the increase in collagen, these effects will heal quickly. You will be able to resume all normal activities within a day of the SkinPen® treatment.
What SkinPen® Results Can I Expect?
The results from your SkinPen® treatment will develop gradually in the weeks following treatment. These results may be further improved with additional treatment sessions, which we often recommend to patients who are looking to eliminate the appearance of acne scars. During your consultation, we will assess your skin type and consider your treatment goals in order to determine the number of treatments that are necessary.
