Maria Atkins, D.O., is the owner and Medical Director of the Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England. Dr. Atkins is known for providing exceptional patient care and beautiful, natural-looking results. Cosmetic Enhancement Center’s locations in Portland, Falmouth, and Waterville, Maine, benefit from her extensive experience and deep commitment to aesthetic medicine. Dr. Atkins specializes in a wide range of minimally invasive cosmetic treatments, including Botox^®, dermal fillers, laser treatments, skin tightening and resurfacing, and more.

Education and Experience

Dr. Atkins is a Maine physician and experienced healthcare practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana. She graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 and completed her internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in 1994. After completing a Family Practice Residency at Brighton Medical Center in Portland, Maine, she turned her focus to Medical Aesthetics in 1996. Dr. Atkins is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and holds numerous certifications in her field. At CEC, she oversees a team of expert providers to ensure high-quality cosmetic care.
