What is QWO?
QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment to treat moderate to severe cellulite in women. Unlike other cellulite treatments, QWO doesn’t require any additional cutting or the use of a strong anesthetic. Instead, QWO consists of just three non-surgical and minimally invasive injectable treatments spaced 21 days apart. The best part about QWO is that each treatment is just a quick, in-office visit with Dr. Atkins or one of our nurse injectors.
How Does QWO Work?
QWO is formulated with a special type of enzyme called collagenase. This enzyme triggers three processes that help smooth away the appearance of cellulite in your targeted areas:
- QWO’s collagenase enzymes help to eliminate the fibrous bands of connective tissue that cause cellulite’s infamous “puckering” effect on the skin.
- Collagenase then helps to redistribute any fat cells that have gathered around the fibrous bands. This further helps to smooth away lumps or bumps that may remain on the skin’s surface.
- Finally, QWO stimulates the production of new collagen to improve skin tone and texture.
All of our patients are able to return to their normal daily activities including work immediately following their appointments. As with all injectables, you may see some redness and swelling. With your first QWO treatment, you will see a large amount of bruising. With each subsequent treatment, most patients experience less bruising each time.
What Results Can I Expect from QWO?
Patients who receive QWO treatments find their skin is smoother and healthier-looking than ever before. While some results may be visible with just one QWO treatment, optimal results occur 28 days after the third session.
