Ellipse IPL™ Photofacial

The Nordlys Ellipse IPL (intense pulsed light) is a photofacial treatment that can improve a wide range of skin conditions, as well as rejuvenate sun-damaged skin. The laser delivers short bursts of light that directly target the blood vessels or melanin within the skin, resulting in a clearer, brighter complexion.

Patients with the following concerns are good candidates for the Ellipse IPL™ Photofacial:

    • Dark Spots
    • Freckles
    • Age Spots
    • Uneven Pigmentation
    • Redness
    • Port Wine Stains
    • Rosacea
    • Facial Veins
    • Vascular Lesions

Ellipse IPL™ treatments address a multitude of skin concerns on both the face and body.

The Nordlys Ellipse IPL treatment is quite comfortable and does not require any numbing prior to the treatment.  Treatments take less than an hour to complete, depending on the number of areas being treated.

The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) delivers short bursts of light that directly target the blood vessels or melanin within your skin. Potentially harmful wavelengths are removed using patented Dual Mode Filtering. The remaining wavelengths are absorbed by the treated hemoglobin in your blood vessels and the melanin in your freckles, sunspots, and other pigmented lesions.

The cost of your treatment at Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England will depend on a number of factors. During your free consultation, we will discuss your treatment goal to determine the approach to the treatment that will work best for you.

Some patients may need multiple treatment sessions. We will consider these and other factors, in order to provide you with the full cost of your treatment during your consultation. To make this and other services more affordable, we are proud to offer financing through CareCredit®.

There is minimal downtime after a Nordlys Ellipse IPL™ treatment. You may notice sloughing or darkening of pigmented spots for a few days to one week post-treatment, depending on the area being treated.

The number of treatments needed will depend on the patient and the area being treated. Yearly maintenance of 1-3 treatments per year is suggested.

Frax Skin Resurfacing

The Nordlys Frax treatment rejuvenates the skin and helps patients reclaim their skin’s youthful look, texture, and tone. This treatment helps restore the smooth surface of the skin and fix irregularities such as wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks.

If you are looking for a solution for keeping your skin’s appearance youthful, the Nordlys Frax treatment may be right for you. Patients interested in treating the following concerns are typically good candidates for the treatment:

  • Textural irregularities, such as fine lines and wrinkles
  • Rejuvenate sun-damaged skin
  • Pink or purple striae (also known as stretch marks)
  • Acne and surgical scars

Prior to the treatment, a numbing cream will be applied to reduce any discomfort.  The Frax laser works by delivering very small, very controlled bursts of heat energy only to the area being treated. This unique technology allows the pulse time and energy to be set independently to deliver controlled heat at the appropriate width and depth to meet individual needs. The laser is gently rolled across the skin and the delivered energy stimulates the production of collagen, resurfacing the skin over time.

The downtime will depend on the type of issue that you would like to improve. Each patient reacts differently to the Frax skin resurfacing treatment. The first few days following the treatment, your skin may be pink/red and feel dry. Swelling can also occur. Over the next week, your skin will feel dry and flakey as the healing process occurs.

Light & Bright

The Nordlys Light & BrightTM treatment is an exciting new aesthetic treatment that can remove dark spots, reduce redness, and improve textural irregularities via skin resurfacing. The treatment combines two advanced technologies found on the Nordlys system. Light & Bright treatment uses both an intense pulsed light (IPL) technology called Ellipse IPLTM and a Frax 1550TM laser on the face and chest areas to rejuvenate* your skin.

As we age, our skin changes. It loses its smoothness and unwanted pigmentation, and small vessels can appear. Over time, sun exposure can accelerate signs of aging.

The Nordlys Light & Bright treatment, improves your skin by:

  • Rejuvenating sun-damaged skin
  • Improving textural irregularities via skin resurfacing
  • Reducing redness
  • Lightening age spots, freckles, and dark spots

Prior to the treatment, a numbing cream will be applied to reduce any discomfort.  First, our providers will use the Ellipse IPLTM technology uses to target unsightly blood vessels or excess melanin within your skin, reducing age spots, freckles, redness and sun damage.

Then, the Frax 1550TM technology will be used to rejuvenate the skin and reduce textural irregularities. The treatment itself takes less than one hour to complete.

After the treatment, redness and swelling are normal. Patients can expect a sloughing of some skin or a darkening of some pigmented spots for a few days following the treatment. After that, you will find your skin looks smoother, fresher, and glowing. At your consultation, our providers will explain more about what you can expect with your individualized treatment.
