Historically, collagen injections were comprised of bovine (cow) derived products that potentially contributed to allergic reactions in some patients.

Facial Fillers

Radiesse: RADIESSE® is an FDA approved dermal filler. It immediately adds volume and lift to safely contour facial features to diminish signs of aging. Due to its patented microsphere technology, RADIESSE® stimulates the body to produce new collagen resulting in a natural look. Not only will you see immediate results after treatment, in many patients that can last up to a year or more.

Restylane and Perlane: These products are clear gels that contain hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in humans and virtually eliminates the chance of an allergic reaction. They are biodegradable, which means that your body will eventually absorb it requiring a repeat injection. These products typically last up to ­­­­9 months before another face filler treatment is needed.

Sculptra Aesthetic: The product is made from poly-l-lactic acid which has been clinically proven to be safe, effective, and long-lasting. Sculptra Aesthetic is used for restoring volume and improving contours and once injected, it stimulates new collagen to grow, adding volume over time and typically lasts 2-4 years before re-treatment is needed. (Poly-l-lactic acid is the same substance used by surgeons as dissolvable suture material).

Juvederm Ultra Plus: Juvederm is a smooth, cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based clear gel. When injected into the skin, it lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated, creating a soft and smooth look. The skin remains soft and natural to the touch and results are visible immediately. Each facial filler treatment lasts up to ­­­­12 months before re-treatment is needed. Juvederm is Dr. Atkins’ preferred choice for filling lips.
