Injectable Facial Fillers

The new generation of injectable facial fillers can provide that desirable, full, natural, youthful appearance quickly and affordably.

With age, collagen and elastin fibers that help shape and sculpt our appearance begin to break down, creating sagging skin, lines, creases, and wrinkles. The new generation of facial fillers can replace our natural collagen thru carefully placed injections in areas where collagen has been lost, helping to fill in creases, wrinkles and plump up areas of the face and skin to create a more youthful and more desirable appearance.

Historically, collagen injections were comprised of bovine (cow) derived products that can create an allergic reaction in some patients. These have been replaced with the new, FDA approved, synthetic injectable filler products. The Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England uses only safe, effective and clinically proven products for cosmetic facial injections.

The Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England uses several different types of injectables either alone or in customized combinations to provide you with a fabulous natural look. Fillers

CosmoDerm®: A collagen dermal (skin) filler made from human collagen. It is injected superficially below the skin’s surface where it smoothes wrinkles, fill in fine lines and scars. This product typically lasts up to 3 months before re-treatment is needed.

Restylane® and Perlane®: A clear gel that contains hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in humans and virtually eliminates the chance of an allergic reaction. It’s biodegradable, which means that your body will eventually absorb it requiring a repeat injection. These products typically last up to ­­­­9 months before re-treatment is needed.

Sculptra® Aesthetic: Made from a synthetic polymer called poly-L-lactic acid. This is the same substance used by surgeons as dissolvable suture material. Poly-L-lactic acid has been clinically proven to be safe and effective, as well as long-lasting. Sculptra® Aesthetic is used for restoring volume and improving contours. Once injected in the skin it stimulates new collagen to grow, adding volume over time. This product typically last 2-4 years before re-treatment is needed.

Juvederm Ultra Plus®: A smooth, cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based clear gel, which is injected into the skin. Juvederm® lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated, creating a soft and smooth look. The skin remains soft and natural to the touch. Results are visible immediately following treatment. This product typically last up to ­­­­12 months before re-treatment is needed and is Dr. Atkins’ preferred choice for filling lips.

Evolence®: A highly purified collagen derived from porcine tendons. Porcine collagen material is used to make heart valve replacements, implantable lenses, wound dressing in burn therapy and surgical mesh patches for tissue repair. The result is immediate and produces a natural enhancement. It is less likely to bruise and doesn’t cause much swelling. This product typically last up to 12 months before re-treatment is needed.
