The Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England is Portland Maine’s finest Physician owned, minimally invasive, Cosmetic Treatment facility. What started out in 1988 as a Medical Laser practice treating Tattoos and Port Wine Stains has become Maine’s largest, oldest, most respected and complete outpatient Laser and Medical Spa and includes the Med-Laser Center, Advanced Vein Center and the Age Management Center.

Our Advanced Vein Center is Maine’s only complete outpatient vein treatment facility treating everything from facial and nose veins with laser and sclerotherapy, to large varicose leg veins with Endo-Venous Laser Therapy, EVLT. Our Age Management Center provides Anti Aging Medicine and offers Bio Identical Hormone Replacement therapy [HRT] to replenish those hormones that decrease with age, menopause and andropause including Testosterone, Estrogen, Progesterone, Thyroid , and growth Hormone [hGH].

Dr. Maria Atkins
Dr. Atkins, the owner of the Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England, is a Board Certified Maine licensed physician with over 12 years of experience in Medical Aesthetic and Cosmetic procedures and treatments. Under Dr. Atkins’s medical supervision, CEC offers multi-wavelength laser technologies and a complete menu of non-invasive techniques, modalities and procedures to help clients “Look Their Best”. Her most recent treatment addition is fat reduction and body sculpting Laser Lipolysis using the Cool Touch Laser.
Dr. Cynthia Asbjornsen
Dr. Asbjornsen completed her residency at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine during which she received specialty training from the country’s leading phlebologists in ambulatory phlebectomy, sclerotherapy, and endovenous ablation techniques. Dr. Asbjornsen has also completed the VNUS Total Vein Training, an educational program that features didactic and lab sessions on the Closure procedure, sclerotherapy, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, and duplex ultrasound. Her interest is in total vein care and treatment using lasers, sclerotherapy and Ambulatory Phlebectomy, treating everything from facial and nose veins to large varicose veins of the legs using EVLT.
Dr. Michael Bedecs
Dr. Bedecs is a triple board certified physician and has had significant experience with the traditional medical model of acute and chronic illness treatment as opposed to the Age Management concepts of illness prevention and wellness maintenance. A traumatic disabling hand injury ended his surgical career and initiated his interest and curiosity in the evolving science of Anti Aging Medicine and the used of Bio Identical Hormone Therapy [HRT]. With a past and present life of sport participation Dr. Bedecs is also interested in the areas of optimal human performance.
Nonie Letellier, R.N.
Nonie is a licensed Registered Nurse in Maine with over 15 years of cosmetic, aesthetic and laser experience. Prior to joining CEC, Nonie worked as an operating room R.N at Mercy, Central Maine and the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. Like all our staff, Nonie is constantly updating her cosmetic training, knowledge, and skill sets within the rapidly expanding world of modern aesthetics medicine and advanced laser treatments
Nancy Ouprie, R.N. BSN
Nancy is a licensed Registered Nurse in Maine with extensive experience in cosmetic medical procedures and aesthetic healthcare. As a certified plastic surgical nurse for over 13 years, Nancy is nationally recognized as a cosmetic procedural trainer for physicians interested in injectable treatments including Botox and facial fillers. Nancy is additionally well experienced in all phases of laser treatments and procedures.
Shirley Millett, Aesthetician
Shirley is a Maine licensed aesthetician who has been in private practice for 7 years and is the owner of Skin Essentials (www.skinessentialsme.com) Shirley is a graduate of the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics and the Victoria Raynor Institute and a nutraceutical consultant with Nutrametrix. Shirley has recently relocated her practice inside our Portland location where she offers total aesthetic care including a wide assortment of cosmetic treatments and several laser procedures under the supervision of our physicians. Shirley is accepting new clients by appointment 878-0616.
Kathy Levesque, Aesthetician
Kathy is a licensed aesthetician in Maine, with over 26 years of experience in cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.Prior to joining Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England Kathy owned and operated “About Face” in Waterville, Maine, specializing in acne care. Kathy is additonally well experienced in many phases of cosmetic and laser procedures.
